Like every region, Cologne has its own specialities. Thuringia has bratwurst, the Ruhr area has currywurst and northern Germany has shrimps roll. And Cologne? Cologne has the Halve Hahn, a true local classic. Brewhouse menues are full of dishes that are typical of the Rhineland. These include Rhensih Sauerbraten, Himmel un Ääd, Hämmchhen, freshly cured pork knuckle and Rievekooche, the Cologne version of potato pancakes. Many of the dishes may sound familiar, but in Cologne they come with their own Kölsch names. Cologne brewhouse food is hearty, traditional and full of flavour. Just right with a freshly tapped Kölsch. It is not about finde dining. It is about good food, local character and the taste of Cologne, just the way we like it at FRÜH.
